Uncensored Opinions....

Our little kennel was a topic of conversation on the Facebook Uncensored Opinions of Breeders today! While I am not a part of this group, a fair amount of screenshots were shared by mutual friends.

I did ask not to see anything posted by one particular person I have had personal issues with as I have her blocked for a reason and don't care to know what she has to say about me. Aside from that person, I felt we got a very fair and balanced series of reviews from strangers outside our breed, which made me quite happy. We also had several personal friends and acquaintances speak for us which I appreciate beyond words! I do want to answer a few things that were mentioned. Please let me say I have NO ISSUE with these criticisms at all and I felt most of what was said was very fair. Even those who said they wouldn't buy a puppy from us did give us credit for things like titling and health testing. I completely respect that different people have different desires in a dog or breeder.

One thing that got mentioned was our use of the phrase "mini aussie". I understand some people don't like that term but it's very legitimate in our breed. I write this complaint off to people not understanding the complicated history of our breed.

Several people commented on our dogs lacking type. Yes, they do! I've been very open about not considering type to be important to our program.

Others commented on my lack of interest in AKC conformation. Again, I've been very open about our opinions there.

A few comments concerned Spyro's undocumented pedigree and the presence of toy lines in Nago's. I've been transparent about Spyro's pedigree and I understand some people disapprove. She's FSS status for a reason and I don't begrudge anyone lacking interest in her for that reason. Some people care and some don't. As to Nago, toy lines are perfectly valid and legitimate in the AKC studbook; again, a personal preference. I feel MAS should be significantly smaller than aussies and appreciate the use of toy lines to lighten bone and bring height down.

Most people who commented gave very fair critiques and I'm proud to see our little program hold up to public scrutiny.
