About us and our philosophy...

Welcome to Rusty Rose Ranch. We are a breeder of AKC Miniature American Shepherds (also known as mini aussies). We are members of AKC's "Bred with H.E.A.R.T" program. The main goal of our program is to produce functional, intelligent, athletic, high-drive sport dogs. All adults are health tested to OFA standards. We are active in several organizations including MASCUSA, MAMASC, ASDR, UKC, ASCA, UKI and AKC. Our primary focus is agility, but we dabble in many sports including Rally, Obedience, Barnhunt, Coursing Ability, Dock diving, Fast CAT, etc. We have also shown in UKC and ASDR conformation with our foundation dogs, though we've since become more sport-focused.
We breed very rarely (only when we want a puppy to keep). Our puppies are raised with a combination of ENS, Avidog and Puppy Culture protocols. Our dogs are generally only suitable for experienced homes, as we do not breed for the pet market. If you're looking for a more low-key family pet, please contact us and we will be glad to recommend another reputable breeder.
Are you an experienced upper level agility competitor? We offer special pricing for stud fees and for puppies in an effort to get our dogs in the agility ring and make a name for them!
